Program Chair: Erin Carlson, Ph.D
Available in the Day College.
A minor in Spanish is available for students who wish to develop their linguistic and cultural competency beyond the General Education requirements. With the goal of contributing actively to one’s global awareness as a responsible world citizen, the Spanish minor is designed to complement and augment other fields of study.
|
Requirements
15 semester hours of Spanish courses numbered 221 and above.
Additional EDU Certification
Students who are already certifying to teach through Columbia College’s Division of Education can add Spanish as an additional area of certification by a) taking 18 s.h. in SPAN beyond the basic language course sequence and b) passing PRAXIS II. This program of coursework satisfies the required 18 s.h. in SPAN, and the courses have been tailored to include the information tested on the PRAXIS II specifically.
