Behavioral Science, B.A.

The interdisciplinary Behavioral Science major equips students to understand the causes and consequences of human behavior from multiple perspectives (individual, societal, and cultural) and to evaluate behavioral science research for a variety of graduate and professional applications.  

 

Student Learning Outcomes

The successful student will:

  1. Understand the continuum of human behavior and recognize deviations from normality.  
  2. Demonstrate understanding of the impact of membership in majority and minority social groups on behavior.  
  3. Demonstrate understanding of the impact of cultural structures on behavior.  
  4. Apply basic research methods and statistical analysis to behavioral data.

Choose 9 hours of electives selected from Anthropology, Psychology, and Sociology courses numbered above 200 or Human Development and Family Studies courses numbered 300
