HED 734 - Application of Trauma-Informed Practices in Higher Education Each student will create a strategic plan for implementing trauma-informed practices into their specific college or university and in their area of responsibility. For example, a Director of Residence Life would create a strategic plan for integrating theory and application of trauma-informed practices into the Residence Life Office; a Director of Admissions into the operation of the Admissions Office; a Director of Student Success into the Student Success program; a Director of Alumni Relations into the operation of the Alumni and Institutional Advancement office; a Director of Financial Aid into the Financial Aid operation, a Director of Athletics into the Athletics Department; etc. Dr. Peter Mitchell, President Emeritus of Columbia College, but also President Emeritus of Albion College (MI) and Lake Superior State University (MI) with 25 years as a college and university president and 13 years consulting on strategic planning will teach this course and mentor the students in the development of their strategic plan.
