EM 110 - Psychological and Social Dimensions of Disaster This course provides an introduction to behavioral and social science research on disasters. The course is an overview of basic concepts and theories relevant for understanding the psychological and social consequences of disasters. Topics include risk perception; risk communication; disaster preparedness and response; the ways in which disasters affect individuals, families and communities; crisis interventions, and recovery processes.
