The Bachelor of Science in Disaster and Emergency Management: Fire Science Concentration supplements current offerings in the Disaster and Emergency Management program and provides courses in fire science as well as management, policy, and administration. The curriculum is modeled on the federal Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education (FESHE)-recommended curriculum. Courses are delivered in a fully online format. An associate of science, associate of arts, or associate of applied science from an accredited technical or community college will be evaluated in accordance with a fire science associate degree articulation template.
The curriculum is designed as a bachelor of science based on a) the technical and practical nature of major required courses and b) requirements for three specified science/technical electives that provide foundation for major required courses.
