The Biology programs at Columbia College seek to connect the promise and practice of science to the phenomena of life and of living systems. In the context of small, interactive classes we deliver a challenging curriculum which includes foundational courses, electives, opportunities for mentored experiential learning, and exploration of scientific cultures and careers. Graduates are introduced to Biology’s concepts, techniques, tools, and applications; and in doing so, become better prepared for training in medicine, health sciences, research, and education.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Students will demonstrate content knowledge at an appropriate level for course areas required in the curriculum.
- Students will demonstrate appropriate performance of technical laboratory procedures generally used in the field of Biology.
- Students will demonstrate the ability to clearly communicate scientific material in an oral presentation context
