Leadership Studies Minor

Available in the Day and Evening Colleges.

 

The Leadership Studies program is available to all interested students, and includes a minor, certificate, and/or leadership semesters. Leadership students engage in both formal coursework and experiential learning.  

Vision: Cultivating courageous leaders, one voice at a time 

Mission: To provide a framework of opportunity for students to experience intersections between their academic training and the principles and practices of effective leadership. 

Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will demonstrate knowledge of leadership models, theories, or processes. 
  2. Students will identify and assess effective skills for a particular leadership context. 
  3. Students will articulate values and attitudes about the leadership process. 

Elective Hours


Six additional elective hours must be taken, and must be approved by the Director of Leadership Studies prior to enrollment in the courses. Students will be advised to take a thematic approach to the study of leadership given their goals and interests. All students will be expected to successfully articulate how their choices create a conceptual framework for the study of leadership.
