Pre-Nursing and Community Health, B.S.

The mission of the Pre-nursing and Community Health program is to prepare committed graduates who are academically ready for further study in the area of nursing and advise and support them toward placement in nursing programs. 

The Bachelor of Science in Pre-nursing and Community Health degree prepares students to enter the Midlands Technical College nursing program and provides them with a solid foundation in community and public health. 

 

Student Learning Outcomes: 

  1. Students will comprehensively describe major chronic illnesses and disabilities and their impact on health outcomes, health promotion and behavior. 
  2. Students will demonstrate problem solving skills by applying, analyzing, and synthesizing content knowledge in public health. 
  3. Students will relate the functions and relationships within the human body. Students will relate the pathophysiology of disease to the anatomy and physiology in the human body. 
  4. Students will demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology.
