Appropriate science-related experiences may include the following: (1) internship, employment, or volunteering at a science-related government agency, public service office, or business (2) a research project or experiential learning course pursued at Columbia College or another institution. Approved experiences will involve at least 25 hours of documented activity and will be accompanied by four assessed products: a brief proposal, to be submitted to the Program Chair at least 1 week before the start of the semester in which the experience occurs, a reflective journal of the experience, a final analytical paper, and an oral presentation.
