Social Justice Literature Minor

Program Chair: Claire Lenviel, Ph.D

Available in the Day College.

The Social Justice Literature minor, housed within the English program, prepares students to be leaders of social change in their major programs and in their communities by studying histories, strategies, and theories of social justice through past and present literature. The program curriculum emphasizes how diverse writers have depicted, confronted, and subverted social injustices and how a study of those literatures can equip us to recognize injustice and to engender equity in the present. Students who are English majors may elect to complete a Social Justice Literature minor as well.
